Batley Festival Heritage Parade
We were delighted to be asked by the Batley Festival Committee to create a new parade for the event, celebrating the history of Batley and its people.

Edgelands Arts held a variety of school and community workshops texploring different elements of Batley history such as the Victorian architecture and the mills, Batley Variety Club and of course Batley biscuits!

The schools and groups involved in the workshops included Field Lane Primary School, Batley Library, Batley RAFA club, The Sporting Memories group, All Saints Community room, Fielded Primary and Windmill Primary School.
​
The parade took place on 28th September and included a new song written especially for the event by Charlie Wells.

The work was funded by the National Heritage Lottery Fund
