Follow the Heron

Commissioned by Creative Scene, Follow the Heron celebrated 30 years of the Cleckheaton Folk Festival. Visual artists worked with local communities to co-create 30 feather flags inspired by the town of  Cleckheaton and its Folk Festival heritage. 

Led by our giant puppet Heron, flags were carried in the parade, thereafter, creating a heritage trail and waymarkers for festival venues throughout the town and event.​The project aimed to artistically document the Folk Festival, attract new audiences for the festival programme and new volunteers for future festival planning.
