The Garden Birds

​In June and July we created 10 new permanent art works for the garden at Normanton Library, for the Friends of Normanton Library Group.

 

We worked with the group to generate ideas to develop the garden space at the rear of Normanton Library. The garden is a well-used space but needed something to brighten it up.

 

We decided to create a new art work called ‘The Garden Birds’,  to celebrate the birds the garden attracts. We  helped the group to apply for funding from Culture Grants  by Wakefield Council as part of Our Year – Wakefield District 2024.

 

10 large bird artworks were created in workshops working with 120 pupils from Newlands Primary School and St John the Baptist Catholic Primary School. The artworks were installed in the garden at a celebration event in August.
